Pyrus ‘Cleveland Select Ornamental Pear’
Pyrus calleryana “Cleveland Select”
- A very hardy and fast-growing variety of Ornamental Pear, which is also known as ‘Chanticleer’ or ‘Glenns Form’.
- It is very popular due to its more upright pyramidal growth and autumn colour and spring flowers.

Foliage
- Shiny deep-green leaves which turn to amazing tones of reds, oranges and purples in autumn.
- The branches are upright and symmetrical.
Flowers
Masses of single white flowers cover the tree in spring.
Usage
- Great for hedging and screening, avenues, feature trees, pleaching, and areas where width is restricted.
- Makes an excellent specimen or pair planting too.
- Plant 2-3m apart for a screen or 5-8m for an avenue.
Comments
- Grow in full sun to part shade.
- Prefers moist, well-drained soil; however, is adaptable to most soils, including dry and intermittently wet soils.
