A vigorous growing vine with dense, dark-green pinnate leaves which consist of 15 lance-shaped leaflets, which also put on a nice display in autumn.
Flowers
- Produces masses of long drooping clusters of pea-like, highly fragrant, purple-mauve flowers up to 40cm long during spring.
- They put on a spectacular display!
Usage
- Excellent for training over walls, arches, pergolas and fences
- As standards, for places that require summer shade
- Over archways over long walkways and driveways.
Comments
- Wisterias a very hardy, however they prefer a sunny, well-drained site with space and robust support.
- Keep moist during dry weather.
- If possible, prune after flowering back to 5-6 buds to promote profuse flowering and to control size.
