- The new leaves are a rich crimson-red in spring, turning to bronze-green in summer and finally a bright crimson-red in autumn.
Usage
- A great feature tree for small gardens, forests, groups or mass planting.
- Also looks nice planted in groups with other maples, Japanese gardens and general garden planting.
- Can also be planted in large containers.

- Grow in full sun to part shade.
- Prefers moist, well-drained soil and protection from hot winds.
- Cultivate well before planting with compost/cow manure and mulch well after planting.
